Sierra Southwest Cooperative Services, Inc. consists of five independent organizations providing for the electrical needs of citizens in the State of Arizona. Sierra Southwest, or SSW for short, was operating in a shared Dominos environment utilizing the Dominos Notes client for email and collaboration between the organizations. Due to popular demand, management and staff at SSW determined a Microsoft Exchange 2007 Server environment, along with the Microsoft Exchange client Outlook 2007, would be the best solution to meet their growing needs.

Highlights of the Sierra Southwest Project included:

Delta Natrual Kraft provides most of the packaging prducts purchased and used in the Central Region of the Unitied States. Located in Pine Bluff, Arkansas with a sister plant in Twinsburg, Ohio operating as Mid-America Packaging, Delta Natrual Kraft relies on reliable, highly available communication between their manufacturing plants, internal users, salespersons, and vendors. With hundreds of users and hundreds of Public Folders, Delta Natural Kraft needed a Certified Microsoft Exchange 2007 Partner they could trust for their upgrade from Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server to Exchange 2007 Server.

Like many organizations planning a migration from Exchange 2003 Server to Exchange 2007 Server, Delta Natrual Kraft IT Management and staff relized the importance of contacting an experienced Microsoft Exchange Server Consulting Firm. Working closely with IT managers, Exiis Corporation was able to assertain Delta Natrual Kraft's current IT infrastructure, plan and coordinate changes, and successfully prepare their Exchange Organization for the move from both Active Directory and the legacy Exchange 2003 Organization to the Exchange 2007 Organization.

Highlights of this project included:

·         Complete Project Management from beginning to end.

·         Preparation of legacy Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2003 Server to Active Directory 2008 services.

·         Analysis and determination of upgrading from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 Native Mode.

·         Infrastructure requirements including a review of all components necessary for a complete and seamless upgrade path to Exchange 2007.

·         The completion of transferring the mailbox store from Exchange 2003 Server to Exchange 2007 Server and ensuring all user data integrity and information was retained during and after the process.

·         The transference of mission-critical and company reliant Public Folders which contained much of the company’s primary shared information, knowledge, and archived information.

·         Retirement of the Exchange 2003 Server Organization, including the transference of all server roles, the Global Address List, routing connectors, and Active Directory references.

·         A complete backup and restore plan, including continuity options in the event of a major local catastrophe.

National Enterprise Systems offers a full range of accounts receivable management services to credit grantors nationwide. Licensed to conduct business in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, NES is a recovery specialist firm that acts as a third party account representative on delinquent accounts and defaulted loans. NES services more than 150 educational institutions which include state, private, proprietary, technical, and commercial schools.

NES made the decision to migrate to a Microsoft Exchange 2007 Server environment in late August of 2009, relying on advanced features of Microsoft Exchange 2007 Server “Transport Server” role and the enhanced security features of Microsoft ISA Server 2006 for real-time connectivity to their Exchange Server Organization. Exiis Corporation assisted in these two component roles by providing direct support to the internal IT stall of NES which included:

·         An overview of the deployment, functionality, and security features of Exchange 2007.

·         Analyzing and recommending the placement of key Exchange 2007 Server Roles.

·         Determining “Best Practice” approaches to advanced security options including the placement and configuration of the Exchange 2007 Transport Server role within the environment.

·         Placement and configuration of Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server (ISA) to secure real-time Outlook Web Access and ActiveSync communications.

·         Determination and configuration of server certificates for SSL communications.

·         Connectivity with mobile devices such as Blackberry, iPhone, and Windows Mobile.

·         Forms-based authentication and secure SSL communications between ISA and clients to enforce strict encryption and secure e-mail communications.

In staying current with advanced communications and mobility functions offered in Exchange 2003 Small Business Server, Safety Solutions needed a Microsoft Certified Exchange Partner who has the in-depth experience and knowledge of configuring legacy Exchange messaging options. Building on top of their current Exchange Organizations, Exiis Corporation was engaged to implement secure e-mail communications between end-users and Microsoft 2003 Small Business Server with Exchange 2003 Server. Highlights of the project included:

·         Review and analysis of the current Microsoft 2003 Small Business Server.

·         Security considerations in relationship to remote user connectivity and functionality.

·         Upgrading and patching the current Small Business Server 2003 environment and Exchange 2003 Server Organization.

·         Assisting the client in determining the security requirements for the company without compromising ease of operation and usability.

·         Installation of server certificates for secure communications between end-users and the organization including secure SSL connectivity to Outlook Web Access services.

·         Configuration and optimization of mobile communication processes including ActiveSync and RPC over HTTPS.

·         Secure communication between Windows-enabled devices such as Windows Smart Phones and remote desktop users.

·         Configuration and modification of current Small Business Server 2003 Exchange settings to include support and secure communications between BlackBerry and Macintosh iPhones.

·         Additional environmental considerations such as backup and recovery planning, continuity solutions, anti-virus, and redundant server availability.
